Jack & Linda Winning Legacy Award
There is no doubt about the highlight of 2024 for our little museum.
On June 23rd we received a top LMM award at the University of Prince Edward Island.
The closing highlight of the conference was the presentation of the Legacy Award for our "contributions to Montgomery scholarship and
public engagement” for over the last 32 years.
We were honoured to receive the Legacy Award and even more so when it was presented to us by the Lieutenant-Governor of the province, Her Honour Antionette Perry.

34th ANNIVERSARY
OF BALA'S MUSEUM
This summer will be the 34th anniversary of our museum
and the 104th anniversary of Lucy Maud Montgomery bringing her family to Bala for a two-week holiday
.
It seems incredible that more than 150,000
visitors have come
through our doors since
we opened on July 24th, 1992.
The story of how this all started with our honeymoon in Prince Edward Island in 1990 has been shared by
CBC national television, CTV and Global News and theToronto daily newspapers.

A Talented Authoress Star Weekly, July 8,1911
“And here’s wishing that Miss Montgomery now that she is married and
come to Ontario, will some day give us an Ontario novel, informed with real
knowledge and full of the delicate charm with which she can always invest a tale.”
Fifteen years later The Blue Castle was that book!
